Forensic Analysis (iIf)
Imatrics Image Forensics (iIF) is extremely useful for police, intelligence, forensic and scientific oversight applications. iIF pursues the following goals:
- Detect whether images have been manipulated: The proliferation of increasingly advanced image processing techniques creates the need for cutting-edge tools for detecting and characterising manipulated images. This issue has vital implications, such as whether images acquired by digital sensors are admissible as evidence.
- Camera identification: The boom in the Internet and of traffic in such items as pornographic digital images mean that the ability to partly or fully identify the camera with which a digital photograph was taken is increasingly important for police and forensic purposes. The possibility of using "ballistic" statistics of digital images opens up a wealth of possibilities for criminal investigation, a field in which Imatrics offers high-level solutions. We hold a Spanish patent in this field [1].
